No, they won’t be making it for dinner…

Today I read a rather jaw dropping story:

A Belgian man appeared in court on Friday after a woman at his dinner party found the bodies of his wife and stepson in the freezer as she put away the leftovers, prosecutors said. – [Yahoo/Reuters]

I’m not quite sure where to start. We don’t know the circumstances under which this mans wife and son perished, so I cannot comment on that, however the fact that he, for reasons I cannot fathom, felt it would be wise to store the bodies in his freezer, and then, for further reasons that might perhaps drive me mad were I to ponder the possibilities too deeply, decided to proceed with a dinner party, with the bodies, chilling, as they were, in the kitchen.

I really don’t know which of these is worse. His “lets see if we can’t just sweep this under the rug for now” attitude to the murder (I can only presume, since people don’t generally drop dead in twos like that. Who, how and why are still anyones guess.) of his wife and son, the somewhat unorthodox storage decision, (given that there would be a dinner party pending), or the fact that he followed through with the dinner party plans with the bodies likely not more that a room or two away…

I give up…
